TripleC Access Funding Scheme for HETV DDN Crew (Applications are now closed thank you)

TripleC is running a new funding scheme for deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent (DDN) crew on behalf of ScreenSkills supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions.

Due to unprecedented demand, TripleC and the High-end TV Skills Fund have decided to make one round of awards in the current April round with no second round of awards in September. This allows us to award more grants due to the money saved in administration costs. We have extended the application deadline to noon on Friday 3rd May to enable people who were planning to apply to round two in September to apply now. As we have extended the application deadline, we will now let applicants know our decision by the middle of June.

Who can apply?

Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent off-screen freelance crew currently working or aspiring to work in High-End TV (HETV). This includes writers, directors and producers.

What can be funded?

Funding can be used to remove access barriers which stop you from entering, progressing or returning to work in HETV.

Due to the wide range of barriers, we are open to what can be funded. Examples might include training, aids, accommodation, travel, driving lessons, childcare, support to apply to Access to Work, software and equipment. But there may be other things you need.

Priority will be given to adjustments or equipment that would not be funded by Access to Work, either because they would not meet their criteria or it would take too long to get the funding.

You can apply for between £100 and £2,500 (including VAT). We can fund up to 100% of the cost, so you may not have to contribute.

Only one award per person will be made in a 12-month period.

What can't be funded?

All activity or training regarding the bursary must be completed by the end of March 2025. We cannot fund academic courses for universities or colleges.

How to apply?

We welcome applications in English or BSL.

If you want to email your application then please tell us:

Please also send us your up-to-date CV. If you don’t have a full CV please send a brief summary of your career.

If you would like to apply via email, please send your application to [email protected] with ACCESS FUND as the subject.

Access support to make your application is available. If you need a support worker or BSL interpreter, you will need to find/source them yourself. We will pay for a maximum of half a day of support for you to make your application.

If you need to use access support, please first email the expected costs to [email protected]. We will confirm whether we will fund this support within 3 working days. We have a limited budget for support so please apply for this as soon as you can.

Please send us your application by noon on Friday 3 May.

We will aim to let you know our decision by the middle of June. You can apply for support for expenditure incurred between 26 April and receiving our decision, but please note that if your application is unsuccessful we will not be able to fund this activity.

Any questions?

We will be holding a webinar on 10 April at 1pm to answer any questions you may have about this funding or the application process. This is an opportunity to get to know a little more about the scheme. It will be BSL interpreted and captioned.

You can also email questions about the funding scheme to [email protected]. We will reply within 3 working days.

We look forward to hearing from you.
