TripleC Training and Consultancy
TripleC provides expert, lived experience-led training & consultancy for the screen and arts sectors around terminology, access, and employment of deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent (DDN) talent.
As our sessions are led by DDN creatives who work in the industry, they always include real-life examples of working in television and the arts. This is a unique way of working that puts lived experience expertise at its heart and ensures our work is creatively focused. Our offer includes:
Foundation Training: Access, Attitudes and Actions
- 1.5 hour session
- Delivered live on Zoom
- Suitable for up to 25 attendees.
We hear the word “access” a lot, but what does it actually mean? Are you unsure what access looks like or how to work with people who are deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent?
This foundation course will set you / your organisation on track to a more inclusive, confident future. The session explores:
- Language and terminology
- What is access?
- Examples of different access requirements in relation to the arts and screen industries
- Actions and solutions that you can put into practice
5As training
- 1.5 hour session
- Delivered live on Zoom
- Suitable for up to 25 attendees (meeting format) or up to 500 (webinar format). We recommend the “meeting format” where possible to ensure full engagement with the learning.
The 5As – Anticipate, Ask, Assess, Adjust and Advocate – are guidelines for disability inclusion in TV production, created by the TV Access Project, an alliance of UK broadcasters and streamers.
This session takes you through the 5As, providing practical guidance on how to implement them, through the lived experience expertise of DDN creatives who work across the industry. We cover a range of access requirements within the session to reflect our diverse and intersectional community.
Roundtable Consultancy
- 2 hour session
- Delivered live on Zoom
- Suitable for 10 to 15 attendees (plus TripleC consultants)
This consultancy format brings together DDN creatives with a specific lived experience or experiences to advise on a specific area. This might include:
Storyline/script consultation, casting, crewing up, training gaps, knowledge gaps, specific areas of access eg working with deaf, visually impaired, neurodivergent, learning disabled cast and crew.
TripleC roundtables are a great way to explore blocks and solutions, with a focus on establishing clear next steps. Please contact us for further details.
Other bespoke support
We offer step by step consultation throughout a production or project, as and when is needed. This can be delivered through the production manager / producer and taken out to wider Heads of Departments and departments according to relevance and need.
This is really useful when incorporating access within your organisation / production for the first time; it’s useful to look at next steps of the production to ensure access is embedded throughout.
This method has proven really popular with the learnings being taken on to future productions. This type of work ensures access isn’t a costly retrospective fit, but is built into the design and management of a production from the start.
We also offer further bespoke support including: mentoring support; placements support; regular access check ins for teams and productions; script consultancy; sourcing DDN talent – casting and crewing up in an accessible way; and more.
